The VSO School of Music offers a wide variety of space rental opportunities for individuals, non-profit groups and corporations. Our state-of-the-art facility includes interactive whiteboards, video conferencing systems, an acoustically isolated performance space and a caterer’s servery.

Pyatt Hall
Painstakingly designed as a state-of-the-art venue, Pyatt Hall combines a classical spirit with the benefits of 21st Century technology. The flexible nature of the space makes for a multitude of stage configurations, and the gala-lift flooring system allows a flat floor to be transformed into raked seating in a matter of minutes. More adaptability comes in the form of motorized acoustic panels and drape systems providing multiple acoustic options for each event.
The acoustically and vibrationally isolated Pyatt Hall is attractively clad with locally sourced basalt stone and sound diffusing maple wood slats. These features create a light and airy space, and the convenient access to the Arthur H. Willms Salon, servery, lobby areas and concession bar, provide all the necessary elements for concerts, meetings and catered events.

Arthur H. Willms Salon
Naturally lit by its south facing wall of floor to ceiling windows, the Arthur H. Willms Salon is an attractive and dramatic space for receptions and meetings. This highly flexible space connects with the second floor lobby, allowing versatility for larger functions. The adjoining servery also provides a welcome convenience if catering is required.

Martha Lou Henley and O’Brian Family Foundation Classrooms
Meetings, seminars and workshops are easily housed in one or both of the School’s classrooms. Both classrooms benefit from south facing floor to ceiling windows, offering an open, light atmosphere, conducive to energy and ideas. Interactive whiteboards and audio visual equipment make these ideal meeting spaces.

Ensemble Room
This room is tailor-made for recordings or rehearsals. Its generous two-storey height allows for great acoustics, while custom soundproofing including a floating concrete floor, prevents interference from outside noise. A variety of microphone options are available, including use of a permanently hung microphone and ample microphone connections that link directly to the School’s control booth.

Meeting Room
Traditional small board room that is ideal for meetings or breakout sessions. Coordinate refreshments from the Crème de la Crumb café in the School lobby and all your meeting needs will be taken care of.

Practice Rooms
Each practice room is equipped with a Yamaha upright piano and provides space for a single individual wishing to practice any instrument. Available for anyone to rent, our 6 practice rooms are great if you live in an apartment or townhouse where practicing an instrument is not allowed.
