Colourstrings Beginning Violin Lessons + Singing Strings Group Class

Children who have participated in the Colourstrings Music and Movement classes may begin violin lessons using the Colourstrings Approach, in which a unique colour-coded system of notation simplifies learning to read music. For those enrolled in lessons, a FREE Singing Strings Group Class meets once a week, to reinforce lessons and create an engaging opportunity for children to play music together.

Instrumental lessons build seamlessly upon the skills developed previously in our CS music and movement program 0-8 yrs. Favourite songs welcome the children and invite them to explore their chosen instrument. Our playful teaching approach using colours, pictures and stories engages children into highly focused studies. Weekly one-to-one lessons are supplemented by a group class. Lessons develop;
> Musical intelligence
> Solfege (do,re,mi) and musicianship
> Transposing pieces at sight
> Music literacy - A unique colour-coded system of notation simplifies learning to read music
> An outstanding ability in the expression of music through colouring, copying, composing, performing and improvising.
